A city is not complete without a large city park. The Westerpark is the largest park in Zoetermeer and can rather be described as a large recreational area. The large amount of water in the park makes the area so green. Here you will find sports fields, a golf course, a bowling alley, a playground, picnic fields and bridleways. Interspersed with forest areas, flowery grasslands, beautiful woods and the special Nature Garden.

The Park
Take the children on a discovery tour through the Westerpark and to the largest outdoor playground in Zoetermeer. With 55 hectares, Golfclub Burggolf is part of the Westerpark and in the middle of the park you can enjoy yourself at Bowling & Recreation Center Westerpark. If you walk, cycle or rent a boat through the Westerpark, you will automatically discover why the park is known far beyond Zoetermeer!

Recreation area
The Westerpark in Zoetermeer has a total area of ​​225 hectares (450 football fields!). It used to be an arable area, today it is a large park with an enormous variety in landscape and vegetation. Dense forests, open plains full of flowers, water features, islands: the Westerpark surprises and delights at every bend you turn!

Relaxing in exertion in the park
The Westerpark is the ideal place to take a nice walk in Zoetermeer or take a long walking route. You can of course take your dog with you, which is allowed to run loose in some places. Various walking routes have been set out through the park. Three routes start near 't Westpunt, they are marked with colored posts:

Activities for children
Are you looking for a fun outing with children? There is plenty of space in the Westerpark to play, play football, have a picnic and, for example, fly a kite.

In the middle of the park you will find Playground Westerpret. This is the coziest and largest outdoor playground in Zoetermeer and the surrounding area for children. Bowling & Recreation Center Westerpark offers a fun day out all year round. There are no fewer than 20 bowling alleys and several restaurants.

Architecture walk
The Westerpark is part of the architecture walk of the Meerzicht district. Both for residents of Zoetermeer and for visitors to the city, these walks are a surprising journey of discovery that you can follow by bike or on foot.
